For one day, everything back to normal in Philadelphia sports

It seems like things haven’t been able to go right this year. The Eagles struggles have been well documented. The weather hasn’t been great. The Sixers still blow big leads despite having Jimmy Butler. However yesterday, even if only for one day, everything seemed to go back to normal. The weather was beautiful. The Eagles continued to own the Giants. Last but not least, Jimmy Butler hit his second game winning three as a Sixer to beat the Nets in Brooklyn.

All things considered, the Eagles played as well as you could’ve hoped. Their win came with some assistance. The Giants certainly helped the Eagles out by only giving the ball to Saquon five times in the 2nd half. It should be a fire-able offense to only give Saquon Barkley the ball five times in the 2nd half when you are protecting an eight point lead. Nonetheless, the Eagles came out on top, all  thanks to a game winning field goal by Jake Elliot. Miraculously, the Eagles have a chance to be in a three-way tie for first place should they beat the Redskins and the Cowboys lose to the Saints. The NFL has been a crazy league this season that’s for sure.

Moving on to the Sixers, they did their best to lose to another bottom feeding NBA team. However, Jimmy Buckets had different ideas and bailed the Sixers out yet again. After losing to the Cavs Friday night, a loss to Brooklyn last night would have been deflating. The Sixers and Eagles both have a lot to figure out the rest of this season. The Sixers have to play defense and not rely on Butler to just bail them out with iso ball. The Eagles need to get healthy and recapture last season’s magic. One thing that is certain, even if only for one day, it felt good to be back in the win column once again.
