Cornerback Is The Move The Eagles Have To Make

It is no secret that the Eagles have underachieved this season. With nine games left to play, they should thank their lucky stars that they play in such a terrible division. Despite how sorry the Eagles have been this season, I truly believe that they can still win the division. However, some improvements need to be made. The improvements that need to be made are on the defensive side of the ball.

The Eagles have a need at running back, receiver, and corner. In my opinion, a running attack of Clement, Smallwood, and Sproles when he’s back can be just fine. The passing attack with Ertz, Alshon, Goedert, and Agholor should provide Wentz with enough weapons to get the job done. The biggest need on this team is at the corner position. I have heard everything from bringing back Desean, and McCoy to trading for Emmanuel Sanders or Demaryius Thomas. Forget the offense, the trade that needs to be made is for Peterson and the Eagles just happen to be the front runners.

The Eagles will not make the playoffs with how the current cornerbacks are playing. Jalen Mills has given up the most yardage in the NFL and Darby seems to have gotten the itch to bite on double moves from Mills. The Eagles have a chance to really bolster the defense for a post-bye run. A trade for Peterson, in addition to the return of Timmy Jernigan, would give the Eagles defense a huge boost for the 2nd half the season. The Eagles would be adding two studs to a defense that really needs it. Especially after Derek Barnett season ending injury. Should Peterson decide to stay in Arizona, Roby from Denver could be another intriguing option.

I have the panic button out. It’s ready for me to press it. If the Eagles win Sunday and can make an upgrade at corner, I can put it back under my desk and so can everyone else.
