Anything but football this Monday

If you are a fan of Penn State and the Eagles, today will be one of the worst Monday’s you will have in a long time. Not only did I lose my voice in State College Saturday night, but I also had to sit on my couch Sunday afternoon and watch the Eagles game. Two teams and two games that both happened to play out in eerily similar fashion. For Penn State, it also was eerily similar to how last year’s game in Ohio State played out. So, with that paragraph written out, that’s all I have to say about football.

I’ll talk more about what transpired this past weekend later in the week. I just can’t fathom a sports weekend being any worse than what I watched over the weekend. I’ll get over it by not watching any football until Thursday at the latest. I’m footballed out at the moment. I believe there is a Sixers preseason game I could be watching tonight. I’m going to forget about football and see how Markelle Fultz’s shot is looking. I want to see if Ben Simmons added any range to his jump shot. If I’m lucky, maybe catch Embiid dunk on someone. Anything but football.

The NBA and NHL regular seasons can’t start enough. Once they begin, they’ll help soften the blows of heartbreaking Eagles/Penn State losses. Until then, I’ll try and not to think of the ineptitude that was on display over the weekend. I’ll even be flipping over to the golf channel instead of the Monday night game while the Sixers are on commercial. If anyone has a sports psychologist, send them my direction.
