Lebron to LA

God bless Lebron if going to LA is really what he wanted. At the end of the day, he did what he thought was best for his family. Here is what bothers me though…

It was the move I was expecting to happen for about the last month. Throughout the season and into the playoffs, I thought Lebron coming to Philly was a foregone conclusion. I thought it gave him the easiest path to the finals and opportunity to play with close friend Ben Simmons. Unfortunately, Lebron didn’t see it the same way. It was clear that his basketball interests weren’t the motivating factor in his decision to go to LA. He moved his family to their home in Los Angeles. He signed a four-year deal to be out there for the duration of his son’s basketball career. With this move, Lebron will be able to be more hands on with the new production company he just launched. So even without Paul George, Lebron took his talents to LA.

God bless Lebron if going to LA is really what he wanted. At the end of the day, he did what he thought was best for his family. Here is what bothers me though… I can’t think of a fan base that deserves Lebron less than the Lakers fans. They have given Lebron nothing but slander for the better part of his career. They think that Kobe was actually better and use their blind love for Kobe to slander Lebron. Now, they will get to enjoy the greatness of Lebron for the next four years. Sixers fans would have probably built a statue for the guy if he ever won a championship here. As of this writing, the Sixers and their fan base are left in the dust.

It was clear the Sixers were trying to get a deal for Kawhi done in order to entice Lebron to come to Philly before he signed with the Lakers. However, the Sixers couldn’t find common ground with the Spurs and the deal never really gained any traction. Now that the Lebron shoe has dropped, expect the Sixers to resort to their plan b and c in the coming days. I think you will pretty much see the same team as last year. I believe the Sixers will use the same formula as last year. Simmons and Embiid being the focal point with a couple Veterans on one-year deals sprinkled throughout the lineup. If you were expecting Lebron in Philly, then it’s a sad day for you. But just remember, the Sixers still have a lot of promise. Even when it’s not easy, you still have to trust the process.
